I read about your return in our Pataskala Standard. My son is finishing up his senior year at Watkins. I wish there had been time for you to present slides in his International Affairs and Global Studies class. I really wish you were staying stateside longer to do a lecture circuit in Spanish classes in local schools. Welcome home! I am busy planning graduation open house for Antonio. I am still a PAR teacher in Columbus. Keep in touch and thanks for this lovely website! My son, Antonio is touring Spain with EF for 10 days in June and he should get a taste of Europe that way. He'll be at Miami University in Oxford, OH this fall. Hasta Luego, Gail

And this visit gave me the opportunity to explore a beautiful city that I probably never would have considered vacationing at (other than the one-day stop on a cruise I took, which doesn't really give you a flavor of the city). I felt safe all the time, including our night-time strolls and my early morning trip to an ATM. Being able to surprise you with Rochelle was tremendous icing on the cake. I met your mom, Jackie, today. She told me about your trip and made me very envious. I am an avid rider and really enjoy tours. My dream is do a cross country tour (USA). Best wishes from someone in Columbus who you don't know but is thinking about you both and wishing you the wind at your back, long down hill grades, 68' with a bit of cloudiness and friendly dogs.

Happy New Year you two!! We've just read the latest installment. Hope you two are feeling better now. Do you have an estimate of how long it will take you to get back into the USA??? As Gary would say, "May The Force Be With You!" P.S. Guess what Gary got for Christmas? A personally autographed picture of William Shatner (a.k.a. Captain Kirk of the Star Ship Enterprise!). I him a letter about Gary and how he's been right by my side and so supportive while I went through the cancer treatment, surgery, etc. He Signed it: To Gary, A man "worthy" of being on my crew!" William Shatner..............COOL, huh??
Love you Guys, Mary Ann & Gary

I have not abandoned the idea of flying out to meet you at some point this spring or summer. Please give me some ideas on where we could meet - we can camp or I can secure us a hotel with beds!
I love you both, and talk to you soon. Dan cannot wait to meet you.

WOW! I've just been reading your last entry about your travels and even though my hair is already "white", I think it got a little whiter reading this last trek of yours!! All I have to say is that it's good you guys are so young and in such good shape! The story about the dog was enchanting. I think that's some kind of "omen" that once you guys get back and get settled, you certainly should have a dog! I've already purchased your Christmas tree ornament for this year and will give it to you when you get back here. It's very appropriate and has a definite spanish theme! Love you Guys!

WOW!! The falls were amazing!!! You know, while we were reading your latest excerpt of your trip, Gary and I both thought, "These guys should write a book about their travels!" Why not?? Think about it! Erica, when you guys get to Panama could you check and see if Ft. Clayton (the Army base) is still there. My family was stationed there when I was a kid for 4 years and I've always wondered if it still exists. It's just a short way from the Miraflores Locks. My Dad was a first sargeant at the 63rd Engineer Co. there and we lived in a house on base that was up on cement pilings (due to the rainy season). It was a real adventure for a little kid. Continue to have fun, be safe and we'll keep reading about your adventures!!! Love YA!!

BA sounds amazing. It's great you stayed for a while and really soaked up the town. I guess it is cool that the steaks are so cheap. A steak can be fantastic, and I hear that the food there is the best.
How about the wine? I get wine from Arg + Chile all the time here in Ohio and it is my fav. If you can, try some Malbac wine that I think grows in the area. It's a giant, almost black, grape that makes great, spicey red wine.
Cheers, you two.

Why are you biking in the dark? You can't see. Bears can see, bats can see. Whose bike is that out on the street. You should not ride your bike in the street. A car could hit you a zoomer. My mom says I have to stay on the sidewalk. Bikes don't have lights but cars do.
